Love Drunk Sims 4 Style: Chapter One

Chapter One: Welcome To The Band

Prologue here!

"Hi, oh good this is the right place! I'm here for the audition?" A pretty blonde woman stood smiling on the doorstep, the gap in her teeth adorably noticable as Ashton Maloney just stared at her blankly.

"Ummmm, yeah?" Was all he could string together to reply.
"Well?" She blinked, the grin still remaining.
"Huh?"

"Aren't you going to let me in?" She pushed past him and gazed around the hallway as a little squeak escaped her throat. Ash gave himself a mental shake and showed her to the living room.

Ashton and his other band mates, his brother Dexter and Drew Mitchell sat in silence as the woman fiddled with her hands nervously.

Feeling a little self conscious she broke the silence and introduced herself, "So, um, I'm Roxanne Harmon and I've been playing piano since I was about 8 years old. I am a fan of your band, I just love your songs and the energy you have when you perform on stage it's...well it's infectious" She giggled and shrugged her shoulders as the boys continued to sit and stare in silence.

Finally Ash spoke, "So Roxanne..."
"Roxy!" She interrupted with another nervous laugh.
"Huh?" He was saying that a lot, but she kind of made people want to say it due to her breezy and rather forceful personality.
"Call me Roxy, everybody does!"

"Why don't we, er, hear you play?" Roxy clapped excitedly like a seal pup and bounced up and down on the chair as the other two boys still sat in silence, Drew with his mouth slightly agape.

She was pretty amazing on the keyboard, better than Dexter and way better than Jeremy their former keyboard player. Dex was surprised at her ability, it almost took his mind off of the fact that they were a band that used to be four and were now three, his childhood friend and fourth band mate had walked out on them a month ago.

Dex felt the rage boil inside the pit of his stomach as he thought about Jeremy Price, someone he believed was his lifelong friend but turned out to be a complete snake in the grass. Not only did he have a bust-up with Drew over their housemate Charlotte's cats, but he announced that he was leaving them to form his own band and he was taking their name with him. The band formerly known as Deadly Nightshade were now nameless and a keyboard player down.

Ash and Drew cut into Dexter's thoughts with their whooping and cheering as the girl, Roxy the mouth Dex had decided to call her, bowed and said in a sing-song voice "Why I thank you! Thank you!"

Ash looked to his younger brother and winked, as Drew quipped "Girl is on FIIIIIRRRRRE!" while also looking at Dex.
"What?" He muttered, as the other two boys sighed and complained to him for not listening again.

"We want her Dex, we really want her! Please can we have her in the band? Pretty please with chocolate sauce on top?" Drew clasped his hands and begged his best friend. Dexter looked at Roxy, she was pretty and bubbly, perhaps the kind of person they needed to cheer them all up. Perhaps the kind of person to help them rename their new quartet. She looked pleadingly at him with her big green eyes behind those cute glasses and he found himself saying,
"Sure, why not? She's in! Welcome to the band Roxy!"

Dexter reached out to shake her hand, but she pulled him in for a hug and gave him the fright of his life. "Ohhhh you won't regret it!"
"Um, yeah so we need to sit down and discuss the...arrangements..."

Before he could finish she stood poker straight in front of him and eyed him warily, "Arrangements?" She repeated.
"Yeah, you did know you have to move in with us, right?"

Roxy seemed a little taken aback by this and looked as if she was going to burst into tears. "What's the problem? You did read the ad right?" Dex gave her a raised eyebrow.
"I..." She stammered, "...but I...you see there's a wee bit of a snag..." Before Dex could say it, his brother said what he was about to.
"What kind of snag?"

"Well I must say that is some sweet cacophony ringing in my ears!" That one little sentence was the epiphany Dexter William Maloney needed, he should have got angry and defended the band but he didn't for a number of reasons...

...reason number one being that the person who said it was the snag that Roxy had mentioned when she joined the band, Evelyn Dawn Robertson. She went as Lainie, and the only reason Dex knew her full name was because she had to sign an agreement before she moved in with Roxy, her best friend.

Reason number two was that Dexter felt his heart go kaboom the minute she walked through the door tripping over her bags and giggling sweetly as she and Roxy headed to their rooms. Yes Dexter liked Lainie, he liked her very much. Neither of them had uttered a word to each other since they met, a whole week ago, not a word. In fact Dexter had never heard her speak until that moment when she uttered that sentence that should have angered him but only gave him an idea.

Which brings on reason number three, he liked that phrase, "Sweet Cacophony", he liked it so much that he stood up and declared that he'd finally found their new band name. They had just finished their third practice together, the first one Lainie had listened to, in fact it was the first time Lainie had even heard the band play.

When he announced it to the others, Lainie blushed and put her head down. Oh my God he heard me??? She looked down at the ground waiting hopefully for a hole to open up and devour her but no such luck.

She finally gained the courage to look up in the direction of Roxy and the boys, and she saw Dexter Maloney grinning at her. Gosh he was so pretty! Lainie liked Dexter, she liked him very much. But why in the world would a gorgeous boy like that ever look at her twice?

As the foursome were about to go their separate ways into their rooms, Dexter mumbled to Roxy, "She's pretty smart, your friend." Roxy laughed and replied,
"Yeah, she often opens her mouth and words come out. Like words you don't really expect, she just blurts them out and turns into a tomato!" She continued to chuckle as Dexter looked over at Lainie.

She stood awkwardly feeling so very vulnerable, waiting for her friend to finish up. It was her day off today, she worked as a cook in the fast food restaurant down the road. She'd cooked for the boys one night and it was amazing, sadly she put Charlotte Kennedy's nose out of joint by a) being so good at it and b) not knowing Charlotte normally cooked.

Yes Charlotte, she was the first lodger to take a room with the boys in their overly large house that used to be a clothing warehouse. She was odd, but sweet and Drew was crazy about her. Dex tried to get him to ask her out but he refused point blank and always changed the subject as soon as anyone brought it up. Charlotte was oblivious to his adoration and lived in her own little world with her two cats Mrs Ubercutes and Mr Fuzzickles. She had been married before but never mentioned it or her ex-husband. There was a childlike quality to her, and her relationship with her mother was strained to say the least.

Temperance Kennedy had visited a couple of times and sneered at Drew, calling him a "shaggy, grungy punk of a boy", and Charlotte was having none of it.

In fact Drew had never seen her since. She was an odd woman, even more odd than Charlotte.

As Dex and Drew gazed adoringly at the objects of their affections, Ash was being rather quiet and had gone out somewhere, he was very vague about where. He had a slight problem, and she was advancing from slight to borderline dangerous.

Her name was Erin Daley and she was a "groupie" of the band. She seemed to have a thing for Ash, and her crazy friend was obsessed with Dex. Selena McLean was a special kind of crazy though, like Charlotte she was in her own little world but her world was deluded and dangerous.

Erin was often embarrassed by her friend, but she just didn't have the heart to shake her off. Besides, she would only see her at every gig the band formerly known as Deadly Nightshade did.

She didn't dare tell Selena that she had caught Ashton Maloney's eye and that when she'd chatted to him after one of the festivals they'd been performing at, they had struck up a friendship. She didn't dare tell her that today when she'd met with him he'd kissed her out of the blue in the rain! For Erin it couldn't get more romantic than that...

...he was so handsome, and so very sweet. He'd tried to discourage her by telling her she was way too young for him. She was 21, he was 36 and he was uncomfortable with that. The fact that he was so wary of their mutual attraction made her love him even more! He had the cutest smile, and when he apologised for kissing her it melted her heart. He'd said in a low voice, "I-I-I'm...sorry, I was out of line I...should never..."

"Ash?"
"Yes?" She winked at him and with a girlish giggle she said,
"You so should have, and I'm glad you did!" He smiled sadly at her and let out a deep, weary sigh.
"Oh Erin, this is so wrong, but I just can't seem to stay away from you...I think you're my kryptonite!"
"Ashton there is nothing wrong with us liking each other, we're both adults!"

Yes it was true that Erin was an adult, it was true that his flirting with her from afar was innocent and harmless. But when he finally met up with her, he was in way over his head. That kiss! He couldn't tell Dex, he couldn't tell anyone! And it was killing him.

While Erin Daley was on cloud nine. She was so happy no one could spoil it for her, not even Selena!

Yes all the boys were a little bit love drunk, and their problems were only just beginning...

To Be Continued...

And so that wraps up the first chapter of a re-imagined Love Drunk. I'm going with the flow on this one, I had a 40 chapter plan for the original Sims 3 version and I stuck to it 75% of the time, but this one is a make up as I go along kinda job. I'm sticking to the themes and the basic storyline of the first one but smooshing it up a wee bit. Anyway chapters will be once a week to start with and once I get into the swing of things, maybe more, who knows!

Thanks for reading, Linda Jane xxx
