Love Drunk Sims 4 Style: Chapter Fifteen

Chapter Fifteen: Please Remember...

"I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to get so drunk..."
"Dexy it's fine!"
"I love you so much freckles, let's make babies and live happily ever after!"
"Oh Dexy, what a wonderful dream that would be!"

"It doesn't have to be a dream, we can be together forever and nobody will ever get in our way again! Not Alex, not Selena...nobody!"
"Dexy don't say these things if you don't mean them, you know how much you mean to me!"
"Marry me and let's run away together!"
"Oh Dexy I wish this was real..."

"Whaddya mean you wish this was real? We're meant to be you and me, I would never hurt you like he does, he's a dirty rotten abuser and you know it freckles! I'll kill him for you, I will!"
"I can even smell you, this is so unfair!"
"Freckles, I'm your soulmate! We belong together, why are you wasting your time with that Alex guy? You know I hate him, you know it's because I hate the way he treats you and I want to be with you, my CookieGurl!"

"Remember those texts?"
"Dexy don't..."
"I'm gonna nibble on your neck, make you purr like a little kitten, undress you ever so slowly and kiss you all over your body! Then I'm gonna..."

Damn! A strong hand on Lainie's shoulder snapped her back into reality, "Lainie? You're exhausted, it's been almost two days! Go home, please?"

"Ashton, I told you!" Lainie rubbed her eyes and growled.
"Lainie you're falling asleep, go have a shower and a rest. I'll call you if there's any change, you're no good to him like this!" Lainie knew he was right, but she didn't want to miss him coming round. It was very early that December morning and it was still dark outside, maybe if she went for a couple of hours rest she could come back this afternoon.

"Look, I'll go get us some coffee, then you can decide whether it's better for you to stay or to go and recharge your batteries. Deal?" Lainie nodded as Ash went for the drinks. It made sense for her to go home, it had been just under 48 hours and still Dexter lay there. Ash had gone home to shower, change and talk to Erin but was met with Roxy's half icy/half worried earful. He had to put her up and leaving to the back of his mind for now, Dexter was the most important person.

Alone again with her Dexy, Lainie stood up holding his hand, kissed his forehead with tears in her eyes and whispered in his ear, "Please wake up Dexy!" She wanted to shake him, to get him to look at her and smile, call her freckles and flash those baby blues at her. "I...I love you!"

Reluctantly she agreed to go home for a few hours and come back fresh and focused. Avril smiled at her as she headed for the door, "Sweetheart I'm so glad you're getting some rest. I promise we will keep you posted. Thank you for being here!" She hugged Lainie, a motherly hug that she really needed right now.

She couldn't go home yet, as she was leaving the hospital, there was a television with a news segment about Dexter's accident! There was no escaping it! Freak accident, it said, Dexter Maloney in critical condition...where did they get their information???

Sitting in the park, Lainie thought about a world without Dexter and it made her panic. She would just die if anything happened to him, she loved him so much. "Oh Dexy, what if you never wake up?"
"Well, it's a possibility, I've been out cold for a good couple of days now..." A familiar voice replied to her.

There he was, sitting as large as life on the swing next to her, grinning. The gorgeous bastard! "Dexy? What..."
"Hey, I'm just in your head. But I'm here to tell you that telling me you loved me might come back to bite you on that peachy, pretty little butt of yours!" Seeing him there made her feel odd, but it comforted her too.
"How?"

"Well..." He gave her one of those dazzling smiles, "...I mighta heard you, and then you've got a lot of explaining to do Cookiefreckles!"
"I'll just tell you the truth because I do love you Dexy. I've always loved you, from the very first moment I heard you sing I was lost to you!"

"But what about Alex?" Dexter, or imaginary Dexter, tilted his head to the side mockingly as Lainie blurted out what was exactly on her mind...
"He's not you!" A gasp escaped her lips as Dexter chuckled and winked at her...

...and was gone! "He'll never be you!" Lainie mumbled, and made her way home. She'd dilly dallied long enough, time to freshen herself up before the real Dexter saw what a mess she was when he finally came round.

Ash could hear raised voices in the hallway as he sat patiently waiting for Dexter to open his eyes. Two female voices, one he couldn't place and the other squeaky one very familiar.

Just as he had dreaded, Selena stood pouting at a poor nurse who was trying to explain that only close family were allowed. "But that girl he lives with was allowed in, how come?" She whined as Ashton intervened.
"Go home Selena, you're a freakin' psycho stalker! If Dexter was awake he definitely wouldn't want to see you!"

Selena blinked several times, as if she was processing his words, "How do you know that?" Man she was not giving up!
"I know that because he told me you disgust him!" Her eyes widened and she gave him the most intimidating glare.
"Our bodies have been joined, as have our hearts and souls!" The nurse had shuffled off, unable to take in this awkward exchange. "We are to be married!" Selena added indignantly with a sad expression.

Ashton simply grunted "Fuck off!", leaving her standing in the hallway.
"I hate you Ashton Maloney! No wonder my friend doesn't like you any more!" Behind the door of Dexter's room, the mere mention of Erin made Ashton's heart hurt.

Had she been in contact with Selena? It had been common knowledge that they were together and someone like Selena who took stalking to a whole new level would most definitely know that. But how would she know they were...estranged?

As he looked at Dexter, still just lying there, he wished he was awake so he could get his advice...and a brotherly hug!

Roxy was taking the whole thing very hard. Matthew didn't know what to do for her, all he could do was make cups of tea and give reassurance that Dexter was a tough cookie and he'd come through this. Despite constantly teasing him and giving him a hard time, Roxy was very fond of Dexter, she found him cute and despite having been a bit of a lady killer in his teens and twenties there was an air of innocence about him too.

He had been around woman wise, that was true, but he still had a very naive outlook of love and romance in general. He'd been stung by a girl in high school, Ash had told her, and that turned him into a bit of a man slut according to him. It wasn't until Lainie came into his life that he had truly fallen in love...hopelessly and helplessly! Roxy found him even cuter after that. As Matthew put his arm around her and smiled, she felt the urge to do something that a couple of months ago would never have crossed her mind in the slightest. Call it the new Star Wars knowledge or whatever...

...but Matthew's lips were far too inviting! She felt so much closer to him these days and when she looked into his eyes her stomach did flip flops! He was surprised at first, but he didn't discourage her, and it was the sweetest kiss she had ever experienced!

She could stay like this forever, glued to Matthew, and never tire of his kisses. Her thoughts were rudely interrupted, as was their kissing session, by a forceful knock on the door.

Alex barged in as Roxy answered, "Where is she? Don't tell me she's still with that loser!" Roxy felt her temples throb and her anger boil hearing this weasel talk about her friend and band mate like that.

"Yes, what's it to you?" Alex looked her up and down with a shocked expression as Matthew appeared in the hallway.
"What's it to...she's my girlfriend you stupid fat trollop!"
"HEY!" Matthew's voice boomed through the hall.

"Don't you fucking dare talk to Roxy like that you insignificant little piece of shit!" Roxy had to hold him back as she saw the veins in his neck pulse and his face turned a dangerous shade of purple.
"Matty, it's okay!" Calling him Matty seemed to tame the beast that he had become, Roxy had never seen him like this before. "Alex she's not here so please go away!"
"No way, I'll wait for her to come home. We have things to discuss!"

"Her friend is in hospital with a serious head injury, what is your major malfunction? Lack of compassion?" Matthew's temper was rising again as Roxy once again had to step in.
"Matty, go back to my room, I'll be there in a minute!" Matthew stood glaring at Alex for a few seconds, then nodded and went to Roxy's room.

"Now you listen to me, if you don't want your extra curricular activities divulged, then I expect you to sit in the living room and be fucking quiet until she gets here! I've no idea when that will be but you be nice, you be understanding, and you be kind! Or she finds out about you and big..."
"Okay okay!" Alex held up his hands before she could finish her sentence, "I just wanna see her!"
"Well you know what to do!" Roxy nodded and left him to stew.

Charlotte was doing her best to comfort her boyfriend. Drew was reluctant to spend much time at the hospital, bad memories of his mother. When he told her about the day he and his grandfather were called to identify Tara Mitchell, her heart broke. He recalled sitting in a white corridor waiting for his gramps, and when he did appear he was crying. Drew had never seen him cry, not even when granny Elsie died a few months before. "He said mum was gone, that it was just me and him from now on."

"Oh Andrew!" Charlotte melted into him, wanting to feel the warmth of his body, to inhale the musky scent of him. "I was married!" She blurted out, "To a young man who promised me he loved me, he promised babies and happy ever after and..."

"...all he did was break my heart! He was only after my father's money, he never loved me, he used me and...well...let's just say my trust in men was gone!"

"Until you treated me like a princess and my faith was somewhat restored!" Drew looked at her with shock, "So if I seem a little distant, please know it has nothing to do with you and everything to do with me! If you give me time I will be a good girlfriend, I will be good to you!"
"Charlotte, sweetheart you already are!" He smiled lovingly at her.

"Well I...just needed to clarify a little...you know! How about I make some pancakes with lashings of blueberries and syrup? And then we can go and see how Dexter Maloney is doing, if you feel like it?"
"Sounds wonderful Char, and thanks! For being a great girlfriend!" Charlotte blushed and started on those pancakes.

Lainie arrived home to a very angry Alex, "What are you doing here?"
"No hey baby I missed you while I was keeping vigil at another man's bedside?" This was not going to be good.
"Alex..."
"No, no please tell me what my girlfriend would possibly be doing all that time? Huh? YOU'VE BEEN THERE FOR ALMOST TWO DAYS!!!" His yelling had brought Roxy and Matt out from hiding.

"What the...Alex I warned you..." Roxy began but he wasn't listening to her, all his attention was on poor little Lainie.
"This is too much! First you lie to me about having a headache so you can go cosy up to that glorified painter at his mother's house of all places, then you leave me at the drop of a hat just after we make love to be with him at the hospital! He's stupid enough to fall down some stairs and you...you..."

Lainie went deathly pale as she mumbled, "I never told you he fell down the stairs!"
"So?" Alex spat, as Roxy and Matt merely looked on in disbelief.
"How do you know that Alex?"
"It's all over the news!" Alex recovered well, Lainie bought it, and the fight took another turn. "Just admit it, you're fucking him!"

"Oh my days, no I am not!" Lainie's face was pink with embarrassment, thinking of CookieRok and the NSFW texts.
"Then why are you acting like you're his and not mine!"
"I'm nobody's property Alex!"
"YOU'RE MINE, YOU'RE FUCKING MINE!" Matt stepped forward and tried to act calmly as Alex laid into Lainie even more.

"Listen, why don't you go home and cool down eh? This is a really emotional time right now for all of us, let's not say any more stuff we might later regret, huh?" Alex gave him a dirty look as Lainie's phone rang, it was Ashton.
"Hi Ashton, is everything okay, Dexy..." Alex winced at her calling him Dexy as her mouth fell open slightly and she nodded mechanically, "...yes, yes I'm on my way!" And now Alex was tutting.

"What the fuck..." He didn't even get to finish as Lainie ran for the door.
"He's awake!" Was all she could say, and she was gone, leaving Alex fuming.

Lainie rushed into the room desperate to see Dexter. Avril, Ash and Drew were standing around his bed and he was sitting up, talking and laughing. It made her heart skip a beat to see him awake.

Avril turned to see her come in and announced, "Look Dexter, look who's here to see you!"
"Yeah!" Ash pitched in, "She's been here the whole time and the very moment you decide to wake up is the time she isn't!" He shook his head and chuckled as Lainie approached the bed and stood by Dexter's side.

"Hi Dexy!" She was about to crush him in a warm hug when his confused expression stopped her in her tracks. He looked a little dazed which was expected with a head injury, but something just wasn't right. Lainie's fears were confirmed when Dexter replied to her drowsily,
"H-hi, um...who are you?" Her heart sank, he didn't remember her?

She was ever so grateful when Avril rescued her, "Dexter darling, this is Lainie! How could you not know Lainie?"
"I...I'm sorry I don't!" And now his confusion turned to distress.
"What do you remember?" Avril looked concerned, what had that bump on the head done to him?
"Well I remember you mum and Ash and Drew, we're in a band called Deadly Nightshade..." Oh boy! "...Jeremy just quit, douche, and Rosalie isn't here so I'm guessing she really did dump me!" Dexter shrugged, still staring at the sad little blonde that he couldn't place.

"I think I'm just tired, so sleepy!" He yawned and turned on his side.
"Well yeah, it's not like you were asleep for almost two days but hey!" Ash chuckled half heartedly.
"Two days???" Dexter sounded shocked as Lainie mumbled,
"Yes, two whole agonising days!"

"And you were here the whole time huh? I'm so sorry that I don't remember, you seem nice Layla!"
"It's Lainie!" She replied in almost a whisper, this was too much! Dexter was starting to doze off as Avril ushered them all out to let him rest.
"It's the painkillers!" She explained as they left him alone, "You sleep now honey we'll see you in a bit!"

Avril smiled at Lainie and tried to reassure her as Ashton felt so very sorry for her. After sitting by Dexter's side for all that time, this was how she was rewarded! "Sweetie he just needs to rest, he'll remember you I know it!"
"I wish I could believe that Mrs Ma...Avril, I really do!" Lainie could hardly conceal the sadness she felt, her Dexy didn't know her at all, and damn did it hurt!

For the second time that day, Avril Maloney gave Lainie a motherly hug, "Lainie I promise you, my Dexter won't be able to forget you for long, you know it and so do I!"
"Yeah, he's just a little fuzzy right now, he'll come round!" Ash tried to back up his mother's sentiment. It made Lainie smile a little knowing Dexter's family were in her corner.

Lainie returned home to quiet, until Alex appeared in the hallway. Clearly he had waited for her, what could he possibly say this time to hurt her? "Hey!" Well that was tame, she thought to herself.
"Hi!" She kept her head down, not knowing what to say or do, still reeling from Dexter's amnesia.

"Look babe, I'm sorry..." Before he could finish his sentence Lainie burst into tears, instinctively he pulled her close, "Hey, hey what's all this? You know I still love you, we're good don't cry!" Did he honestly think this was for his benefit?
"It's not that, Dexy...he, he can't remember me! He doesn't know who I am!"

Alex felt a warm glow envelope him at the thought of Dexter fucking ass hat Maloney forgetting who Lainie was, she's all mine now you son of a bitch! "Oh babe that's awful!" Keeping up the pretense that he really cared, Alex rubbed his girlfriend's back hoping to comfort her into bed so she would forget Dexter the way he'd forgotten her!

A couple of hours after Lainie had left, Dexter was a bit more lucid. Ash babbled away about the things he clearly couldn't remember, like Lainie and Roxy and the new name for the band. All Dexter wanted to think about was that cute little blonde with the freckles and the button nose, she was adorable, and obviously someone special in his life.

Ash continued to waffle as Dexter interrupted, "Hey that girl that was here...um, Lana?" He knew her name was Lainie, he just wanted to play cool.
"Lainie you mean?" His big brother seemed irritated by this and gave him a dirty look.
"Yeah, yeah Lainie!" Ashton looked at him expectantly for a few minutes, waiting for him to actually say something.

Eventually Dexter spoke and the words that came out were of no surprise to Ashton at all, "She's cute, is she single?" Ash burst out laughing at the question as his little brother looked at him with those big blue blinking eyes, wondering what was so funny. He really hadn't had a good laugh recently, and after what he had been through the past couple of days, thanks to Dexter this one was just what he needed!

To Be Continued...

Next chapter is a Christmas one! Dexter is discharged just in time for the festivities and he very much wants to see Lainie again, he's into her despite not remembering her, I guess some things never change! And Alex is up to his usual sleazy ways!
